Protocols & Procedures for Lion Home Games
Welcome to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy!

At PRCA, we are working to create a safe and healthy environment for our student-athletes, coaches, guests, and community while also allowing for interscholastic competition to occur. The following guide outlines our protocols and procedures for on-campus athletic events for the Fall of 2020. These are subject to change as mandates and guidance are updated.

Tickets for home athletic events will only be made available online through Ticket Spicket. To begin the season, we will allow fans to each event and send out information about how many fans are allowed and how to purchase tickets. At this time, AIA passes are not being accepted and we are not selling season passes for 2020-21. 

Home Varsity Football Games
Varsity game begin at 7:00 PM
Gates will open at 30 minutes before the start of the contest.
$4 General Admission Seating

Home JV Football Games
JV game begin at 6:00 PM
Gates will open at 30 minutes before the start of the contest.
$2 General Admission Seating
Home Volleyball Games
JV-B starts at 4:00, JV-A PM starts at 5:00 PM and Varsity begins at 6:00 PM
Gates will open at 15 minutes before the start of each contest.
The gym will be cleared of all fans following the conclusion of each match.
 
All home athletic events - at every level of play - will be live streamed on the NFHS Network.

You can purchase a yearly annual pass to view every game live or on-demand on up to three devices for $70, or $11 per month. This will allow you to view all contests (High School & Middle School) held on our stadium field and gymnasium.

High School Volleyball
Tuesday, October 27: Volleyball will be playing a home game against Safford. JV-B at 4:00, JV-A at 5:00 PM, and Varsity at 6:00 PM. PRCA will be allowing two fans per player. Only family members of the JV-B players will enter for the 3:45 PM start, then JV-A parents can enter at 5:00 PM. We will then empty the gym of those fans and allow two family members of the 6:00 PM varsity game. We will have a roster of each team at the entry gate and will mark off the two family members that you have chosen to attend. Please state which player you are representing when you arrive. Please have your family group sit by a taped "X" that you will see in the bleachers more to the North main section of the gym.
 
Thursday, October 29: Volleyball will be traveling to San Tan Foothills High School. JV-B at 4:00, JV-A at 5:00 PM, and Varsity at 6:00 PM. San Tan Foothills will be allowing all visiting fans at this event. You must wear a mask at all times and social distance whenever possible. Live stream link (NFHS subscription required)

Middle School Volleyball
Thursday, October 29: The MS Volleyball team will play a home game against Casas Christian; A team at 4:00 PM and B team at 5:00 PM, with their only loss coming against Casas. PRCA Covid Fan Requirements: 2 fans are permitted per athlete (siblings count as fans, fans must wear a mask at all times on the PRCA campus, PRCA fans will sit at the north end of the bleachers, and families should social distance from other families/individuals.
 
High School Football
Wednesday, October 28: JV Football will be playing a home game against San Tan Foothills starting at 6:00 PM. We will be allowing 4 fans per player to be allowed into this game. You must wear a mask at all times and social distance at all times.
 
Friday, October 30: Varsity football will be traveling to San Tan Foothills. The game time is 7:00 PM. San Tan Foothills will allow 300-400 visiting fans into the game, first come first serve. Masks are required and social distance whenever possible.  Live stream link  (NFHS subscription required)

Middle School Football
Saturday, October 31: Middle School football will be traveling to Paradise Honors High School. Game time is 1:00 PM. (12775 N. 75th Ave, Surprise. AZ).  Paradise Honors School District prohibits fans at this time. PRCA MS Athletics will notify families if game location changes to allow fans to participate. 
 
High School Cross Country
High School Cross Country does not have a meet this week to prepare for state events. "While the regular is over for most of our athletes, please continue cheering and praying for the 14 varsity runners who will go on to compete at sectionals on November 4, and then hopefully the State meets after that. It'll be a tough road to qualify for State this year, but we believe that if the hard work continues, we can do it!" -Coach DeAlto
 
Middle School Cross Country
Wednesday, October 28: Last meet against at Casas at 4:00 PM. Fans are to remain socially distant and keep a mask on at all times.

High School Volleyball
Tuesday, October 20: On Tuesday night, the Lions hosted undefeated Thatcher. The JV-B team won in 3 sets giving Thatcher their first loss on the season. JV-A team lost in two close sets. Varsity lost in 3 with scores of 24-26, 18-25, 15-25. Christina Shaffer recorded 9 kills and Geneva Elliott had 6 kills. Vienna Elliott has her best game on the season against a strong defense recording 5 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 assisted blocks.
 
Thursday, October 22: The JV-A and Varsity volleyball teams traveled to Coolidge and picked up wins in straight sets. The JV-A girls played two strong sets and served 90% on the night. The varsity girls were down OH Christina Shaffer but managed to dominate all 3 sets winning 25-9, 25-9, 25-10. Danitza Carreon played 1.5 sets recording 9 aces and 13 assists on the night. Camila Monreal played 1.5 sets at setter and got 13 assists as well. Natalie Hill had 6 aces on the night and a strong passing night from the back row and Geneva Elliott had 9 kills. Sophomore sensation Molly Garnand had an outstanding night recording 8 kills out of 10 attempts. Hitters were firing on all cylinders getting a total of 26 kills with contributions coming from Avery Hart, Savannah Kay, Sydney Soto, and Vienna Elliott.
 
Middle School Volleyball
Tuesday, October 19: A-team suffered their first loss against Casas Christian.
 
Thursday, October 22: MS Volleyball played a home game against Desert Christian Middle School.  Both A-team and B-team won in 3 sets.
 
High School Football
Wednesday, October 21: JV Football played a home game against Safford, winning 35-16. The JV team played well and were led by Jacob Mustain and Abraham Grajeda running the ball. The JV are now 3-1 and will look to continue next against San Tan Foothills next week.
 
Friday, October 23: Varsity traveled to Safford High School and won the game 31-21. "Nice to win on the road after a long trip, special teams played well and we look forward to our next game against San Tan Foothills" -Coach Middleton
 
Middle School Football
Saturday, October 24: MS Football traveled to Fountain Hills to take on Northwest Christian Middle School and suffered their first loss against Northwest Christian this past Saturday.  Season record:1-1
 
High School Cross Country
Saturday, October 24: Congratulations to all of our runners who set new PRs: Logan, Kegan, Wolf, Charles-Thomas, Jesse, and Sammy Booker, coming in well under 20:00 as a team! For the girls varsity race, the entire team set personal records. Kyra, Emma, Madison, Ilse, Journey, Anabella, and Jillian all came in under 26:00 as a team!
 
The JV side of things was no less impressive. Brenan, Chris, David, Josh, Ryan, Sammy VanWinkle, Tyler Wieland, and Zach all notched season records for the boys, and Ella, Eszter, Katelyn, Macy, Meadow, and Sofia all nabbed PRs for the girls.
 
In the Varsity races, Myles, Kyra, and Emma all came home with medals. Sammy Booker and Charles-Thomas both showed their mettle in the finishing 300m stretch, surging past competitors to cross the finish line. Anabella knocked almost a full 2:00 off of her previous best, and on the JV side, Brenan and Chris had a heart-pounding senior boys’ duel to the finish. David Booker, a freshman, continued to build on his vast improvements throughout the season by finishing in just over 22 minutes, over 5 minutes faster than he was running at the start of the season! 
 
Middle School Cross Country
Friday, October 23: Our team participated in the Champions of the Phoenix Classic and winning were our own PRCA Lions: Will Black and Ellie York!  In addition, PRCA medalists include:  Cal Wixon (4th), Makoa Williamson, Ryan Rhodes, Henry Garnand, Emily Tarro (2nd), Lauren Potts (3rd), Lili Vekony, & Alyssa Flacke.

Game Management

FOOTBALL

ENTRY AND SCREENING
All visiting programs will be asked to confirm that all their student-athletes, coaches, and sideline personnel are cleared to participate. This includes athletes, staff, sports medicine team, spirit line, film crew, and administration.
All site workers and volunteers will undergo a symptom check, including a temperature scan, prior to working.

MEDIA
Credentialed media will be allowed in approved media areas along the back of the endzone and between the 10-yard lines and the back of the endzone.
Media are not allowed in the team boxes (from 10-yard line to 10-yard line) or in the press box.
The postgame interview area will be located along the goal line of the south endzone.
Media must follow AIA recommendations for media members.

SIDELINE ACCESS
Persons on the sidelines (sideline personnel) should be restricted to players, coaches, athletic trainers, athletic directors, administration, media, and game administration personnel (chain crew, ball persons, etc.).
Visiting teams will be issued credentials upon arrival for sideline access.
Sideline personnel must always wear face masks and will be issued a credential for the game.
At this time we are working on our policy regarding filming for visiting teams. The Athletic Director will be contacting each school to work out the sharing of film for the time being.Officials have the authority to notify game administration about unauthorized personnel and have them removed from the sideline.

LOCKER ROOMS
Teams are encouraged to come dressed, ready to play. If needed, locker rooms will be made available for teams to dress out and use the restroom. The number of people allowed in a locker room at a time will be limited.

Locker rooms will not be available during halftime. They will be made available again after the game to change out and use the restroom. Again, the number of people in the locker room will be limited.

PRESS BOX
At this time we are working on our policy regarding filming for visiting teams. The Athletic Director will be contacting each school to work out the sharing of film for the time being.
The press box is off limits to all non-school personnel.
VOLLEYBALL

ENTRY AND SCREENING
All visiting programs will be asked to confirm that all their student-athletes, coaches, and personnel are cleared to participate. This includes athletes, staff, film crew, and administration.
All site workers and volunteers will undergo a symptom check, including a temperature scan, prior to working.

VISITING TEAM SEATING AREA
Non-playing level student-athletes should wear face coverings and sit socially distanced in the designated visiting team area of the bleachers.
Athletes should not be up walking around the gym except to use the restroom.

TEAM BENCH
Persons on the bench should be restricted to players, coaches, athletic trainers.
Coaches and trainers must always wear face masks.
Team benches may extend past the end line.
Teams will not alternate benches during the match.
At no point should spectators come onto the court or the team bench area of the gym.
Officials have the authority to notify game administration about unauthorized personnel and have them removed from the sideline.

OFFICIALS TABLE
Seating limited to essential personnel, including the official scorer, libero tracker, scoreboard operator, and announcer.
Visiting team personnel will not be seated at the officials table and may sit on the visiting team bench.

BALL ROTATION
PRCA will utilize a ball rotation system to allow for the intermittent cleaning of game balls.

HYDRATION
PRCA will not be providing water jugs for visiting teams. Water bottle fill up stations are located just outside the gym doors near the visitors bench.
Visiting teams are encouraged to have each participant bring their own bottle and will be responsible for proper filling.

POSTGAME
No handshake line following the game.
Fans should not go onto the court at the conclusion of the match and should leave the venue immediately. Please plan to meet participants off campus or at their vehicle.
