HS Athletic Director, US Assistant Principal, Girls Basketball Coach
Coach Tvrdy has been pouring into the lives of students at PRCA since 2001.
How long have you been at PRCA? 21 years, since the Upper School was established. I started as a PE teacher, and also taught one year of pre-algebra. I've been part of the girls basketball program since the beginning, and have been the HS Athletic Director since 2006.
Where are you from, and what is your educational background?
I'm originally from a farm in Nebraska. I have a teaching degree from the University of Arizona and I earned a Masters in School Administration from Chapman University.
Tell us about your family.
I'm the oldest of 6 brothers and sisters. I have been married to my wife Karen for 34 years, and we have 3 boys, Caleb, Joshua and Aaron, who are all PRCA alumni. Karen and I have "adopted" a woman from Rwanda named Deb who is like having the daughter I always wanted. She gave birth to twins in April 2021 named Ray and Reyna and now I'm a grandpa.
What keeps you busy outside of school?
We enjoy the new family living with us and I am always trying to stay physically and spiritually fit.
How do you hope to make a difference in the lives of PRCA students?
I hope I can impart Godly wisdom into their lives and live a holy life in front of them.
What do you love most about being at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy?
The people I serve with.
What do you like best about coaching?
Sports are one of the best opportunities to reach kids for eternity with Christ.
What's one thing that makes PRCA unique?
Many people that come to our campus the first time say they have sensed the Holy Spirit while visiting.
What is something that most people don't know about you?
I was in the seminary to become a Catholic priest right out of high school.
