Since PRCA's first graducation in 2001, the school's accomplishments have grown in academics, athletics and fine arts, but few remember that the first athletic state championship was earned by David Henson. He won the state wrestling championship in the 135 pound weight class and went on to wrestle at Pima Community College (PCC) while coaching wrestling at PRCA.
After his time at PCC, David felt the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force, where he now performs the essential job of Loadmaster for the C-130 Hercules, one of the most versatile aircraft in the fleet. He has traveled the globe defending freedom and the interests of the United States. David has been good to the Air Force, and the Air Force has been good to him.
One of the best things the Air Force did for David was to station him at Cannon AFB in New Mexico. There he met his lovely wife, JoAngela. Currently, they have two beautiful girls, Avery and Audrey. God has blessed them with another baby due in September 2020. David and his family now live in Tucson and worship at Casas Church, where JoAngela is a table host for their women's ministry.
David pursues many interests outside of work that include creating projects involving welding, woodworking, remodeling and working on his 1970 Dodge Challenger. He is a man of many talents, but his greatest passion and motivation is, "to be a good and godly dad and husband, and live a life that is a worthy example. I want to teach my kids what is right, let them learn from mistakes, and be there to pick them up when they fall."
David and JoAngela are grateful to be stationed in Tucson so that they can live with extended family and friends in Christian community. God is good!
