Director of Houses & HS Bible Teacher
"Christian education allows us the opportunity to explicitly point to the one True source for all things."

How long have you been at PRCA?
7 years, Director of Houses and High School Bible Teacher

Where did you grow up, and what is your educational background?
I grew up here in Tucson and actually attended Mountain View High School. God called me away to the "big city" - Chicago, where I pursued a Bachelors degrees in Bible and Theology at Moody Bible Institute. I loved my studies so much, that I continued my education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and received my Masters in Theology.

Tell us about your family.
My lovely wife, Victoria, is also a teacher here at PRCA, in the Middle School.

What keeps you busy outside of school?
Outside of hanging with students at school events, I love rock climbing, spending time with friends, playing board games and completing puzzles!

How do you hope to make a difference in the lives of PRCA students each year?
My role, both as a Bible teacher and the Director of Houses, is really an opportunity for me to disciple young people. As we seek to "teach our students to become like Christ," I allow the curriculum of my classes to foster growth in community in order that my testimony might be on display to the students, that they might have a chance to grow in their relationship with Christ in kind.

What do you love most about Pusch Ridge Christian Academy?
I love where I work - growing in a love of learning and deepening knowledge of the Almighty with students, and being able to build relationships with them based on this foundation makes every single day a joy!

Why do you think Christian education is important for families to consider?
Christian education is essential! If we hope to understand the world around us, both the natural world and the human experience, we must be able to have a foundation of correctly ordered "loves" - love of God and love of others. While there may be a cursory understanding of these things in other places, Christian education allows us the opportunity to explicitly point to the one True source for all things that are true, good and beautiful. From there, we can build His Kingdom in a way that allows us to offer up all things - our learning, extra-curricular activities and even our community life - to God as worship.

What's one thing that makes PRCA unique?
I am hard pressed to find another environment where the people who work there honestly love one another so openly, and where students and teachers have meaningful relationships beyond the academic.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
I am a classically trained violinist and have performed in most of the continental United States, as well as several countries in Europe as well as Canada. I also wrote and published my first fiction novel (and I'm working on #2!).
