Lunch & Safety Monitor
"Children spend most of their time at school. The time they spend is critical in forming what kind of person they will ultimately become."

How long have you been at PRCA?
Since November 2020 as a lunch/safety monitor.

Any interesting jobs/positions you have had prior to working here that have strongly influenced you in your role at PRCA?
I worked at a private, Christian school in Aurora, IL as an extended care staff for 5 years. I was primarily responsible for watching students before and after school from kindergarten through 5th grade.

Where did you grow up, and what is your educational background?
I was born and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia (southeast Asia). I have a 3-year Associates degree in Office/Secretarial Studies from an Academy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Tell us about your family.
My husband, Rick, and I have been married for almost 18 years and have 2 daughters attending PRCA. Our oldest daughter is Nikki, class of '23, and Kayci, class of '25. My parents live in Jakarta, Indonesia, my older sister, her husband and two children live in Minnesota, and my mother-in-law lives in Kentucky (howdy, y'all!)

What keeps you busy outside of school?
I love crafts, cooking, and traveling. I enjoy helping my daughters with their school projects. At home, I love preparing Asian dishes and teaching my daughters how to cook them as well. As for traveling, we recently went on a road trip to Denver, CO (and surrounding), as well as Cheyenne, WY.

How do you hope to make a difference in the lives of PRCA students each year?
I would like for the students to get to know and have a personal relationship with Jesus. For those who have already graduated, I pray that they remember and follow what we have taught them at school and apply it to their lives.

What do you love most about Pusch Ridge Christian Academy?
I love the Christian environment that is focused on Jesus.

Why do you think Christian education is important for families to consider?
In recent years, we have seen a lot of change happening in the world and especially in the United States. Much of it is not God nor Bible-approved and has been dividing and hurting children, teachers, and parents. God wants us to become more like Christ and develop the character of Christ. Therefore, I believe Christian education plays an important role to help remind us how God wants us to live. Children spend most of their time at school. The time they spend is critical in forming what kind of person they will ultimately become.

What's one thing that makes PRCA unique?
The students are polite and respectful and it is wonderful to see the students and teachers have such nice relationships.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
My first language is Indonesian. When I was in 6th grade, I started to learn English. When I was in high school, I took one year of French and in college, I took 2 years of Japanese. Back in 2007, my husband, two daughters, and I moved to Kobe, Japan and lived there for nearly 4 years. The Japanese I had learned in college became very useful. Since we moved to Tucson in 2017, where a lot of people speak Spanish, I would like to be able to learn Spanish.
