Judi Poblano Integral in Opening of New Campus

Director of Administration, PRCA South
"...for parents that work to give their kids a Christian upbringing, they are able to trust that they’ll be receiving the same at school."

How long have you been at PRCA?
I was a HS Spanish teacher for three years and am now the Director of Administration for the new campus, PRCA South, which will open in August 2022.

Any interesting jobs/positions you have had prior to working here?
My experience in working with the youth group at my church and even my part time job working in retail helped with me with being a high school Spanish teacher. I began working at PRCA just after college graduation.

Where did you grow up, and what is your educational background?
I was born and raised in California until I was 12 then I moved to Tucson with my family. I attended Cross Middle School and CDO High school. I went to Northern Arizona University for one year before returning to Tucson to finish my degree in Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona.

Tell us about your family.
I have my mom and dad and my two brothers. My abuelita and abuelito recently moved to Tucson, along with an uncle. I have a big family, and a wonderful church family that connected me to PRCA and now I have a beautiful PRCA family as well!

What keeps you busy outside of school?
Family and church. I love getting involved in various events and working with people. I also LOVE to travel so I’m usually out of town when I get a chance to visit and see new places.

How do you hope to make a difference in the lives of PRCA students each year?
I want students to feel connected. As a teacher and now as an administrator, my goal is for others to know how important it is to be authentic as a Christian. Christ meet us where we are and it’s the greatest act of love to meet our brothers and sister where they are; that usually starts with showing others how we are all sinners but greatly redeemed.

What do you love most about Pusch Ridge Christian Academy?
I love the people, both students and staff alike. I love all the great friends and the wonderful love that envelopes our campuses. I’ve never experienced anything like this and every time I get a chance to talk, pray, laugh, cry, and grow with a brother or sister, I am reminded how special this place is.

Why do you think Christian education is important for families to consider?
It’s important because it offers the chance to unite to Christ in every way. We see so many people that only go to church on Sunday or grow up in a Christian home and don’t meet anyone else that can come alongside them when they’re in school or at work. Christian education offers an opportunity to reinforce the values at home and provide a solid Christ centered foundation for kids as they grow up. And for parents that work to give their kids a Christian upbringing, they are able to trust that they’ll be receiving the same at school.

What's one thing that makes PRCA unique?
The community. PRCA is unique because of the people that gather and work together to make it better everyday.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
Most people don’t know I sneeze 10 times in a row (it’s not a virus or allergies), that’s just how I sneeze.

Anything else you'd like to add?
The moment we step outside of our own world (community, neighborhood, family circle, comfort zone) we can find a whole new perspective through experiences with others, stories, and just a common suffering and joy. It usually won’t come to you, you have to go and find it. Only then can we truly understand what it is to love our brothers and sisters like Christ loves us.
