As part of a well-rounded Christian education, PRCA offers athletic programs for grades 6-12. Students love to cheer each other on to build school community!
Our 17 high school sports teams compete in the 3A South Region of the AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) and most have earned various Region and State appearances. State championship appearances have been achieved in football, girls & boys basketball, girls and boys swim, girls and boys cross country, baseball, girls and boys soccer, girls & boys track, softball and girls and boys tennis. Many student-athletes have chosen to pursue the collegiate athletic experience at various levels, and are prepared for the rigors of college academics and an athletic commitment as a result of their time as a PRCA Lion.
Middle School student-athletes (grades 6-8) have the opportunity to participate in 14 sports throughout the year. At the Grammar School, league teams are often formed and coached by parent volunteers.
At the heart of these programs is the principle of Discipleship Coaching. Coaches are expected to not only be passionate about their specific sport, but also want to lead young men & women to a closer relationship with Christ. All teams have regular devotions and coaches strive to lead by example in confidence, yet with humility.
As head football coach Harris has said, “The world is going to judge us based on our win-loss record, but I will tell you, I’m not going to know how I did, if the blood and sweat and tears I put in…. I won’t know if it made a difference for five or ten years, when they’ve become husbands, men and fathers and leaders in the community and church.”
