About

Who We Are

The mission of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy
is to teach our students to become like Christ
through a classical, Christian education
within a covenantal community.

What Makes PRCA Unique?

We serve 980 students across our Grammar (K - 5), Upper (6 - 12), and South (K - 5) campuses. We are a diverse body of believers, representing over 100 churches in the Tucson area.

PRCA is a Christ-centered community, partnering with Christian families in the education and discipleship of their children. We welcome families from a variety of church backgrounds who affirm our Statement of Faith and Statement of Christian Principles and are actively involved in a local body of believers. Our desire is not merely to impart knowledge, but to cultivate a living and active faith that shapes both character and conduct.

Through our Portrait of a Graduate, we intentionally develop five key character traits - Servant Leader, Courageous Christian, Truth Seeker, Virtuous Steward, and Justice Keeper - throughout our curriculum, helping prepare graduates to engage the world with wisdom, conviction, and the truth of the Gospel.

Our dedicated teachers are equipped through ongoing mentoring, leadership development, and spiritual growth opportunities. They are deeply invested in the lives of our students and together with parents, alumni, grandparents, coaches, and donors, form a vibrant community committed to helping students grow in faith, character, and purpose as they seek to glorify Christ in all they do.

What Makes An Education Christian?

A Christian education is distinguished by its commitment to viewing all life and learning through the lens of God’s truth as revealed in Scripture. Rather than treating faith as a separate subject, a Christian education integrates biblical principles into every area of study, helping students understand God as the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

It seeks not only to develop academic excellence but also to nurture spiritual growth, godly character, wisdom, and a heart for serving others. The ultimate goal of a Christian education is to help students know and love God more deeply, grow in Christlikeness, using their gifts to impact the world for His kingdom.

What Is A Classical Education?

We seek to help students become more like Christ through the framework of a classical, Christian education. Rather than following educational trends, we focus on timeless truths that cultivate a love for what is true, good, and beautiful in God’s creation. Students are challenged to think critically, discern wisely, and understand their role in God’s world.

Through the study of Scripture, mathematics, science, literature, history, and the arts, students engage with great ideas that have shaped civilizations throughout history. They learn to evaluate different perspectives through a biblical worldview, developing the wisdom and virtue needed to navigate life with discernment, courage, justice, and integrity.

Classical education at PRCA extends beyond the classroom. Through athletics, fine arts, service opportunities, experiential learning, and speech and debate, students are encouraged to grow in character, leadership, and faith. Our goal is to equip young men and women to think deeply, live virtuously, and faithfully serve as salt and light for Christ in the world.

What Does It Mean to Be Covenantal?

A covenantal community is a Christ-centered community of believers who live out their relationship with God through loving, respectful, and biblically grounded relationships with one another.

At PRCA, this means partnering with Christian families to help raise and disciple students through a classical, Christian education. Parents remain their children's primary educators, while the school supports that responsibility by providing academic excellence and spiritual formation rooted in Scripture.

Being part of a covenantal community means treating one another with humility, grace, and truth. While disagreements may arise, we are called to address them directly, seek understanding, and work together in ways that honor Christ and advance the school's mission.

PRCA is a ministry of Catalina Foothills Church, which is located at the corner of Orange Grove Road and Skyline Drive in Tucson, Arizona. It is a congregation of The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
