Learn more about Brian Rafacz

Middle School Principal
"Our mission is robust and we have a fantastic team of faculty and staff who strive to live it out!"

How long have you been at PRCA?
I have been here almost 8 years including as a teacher and Assistant Principal, and now as MS Principal. I have also been a leader in the Expeditionary Learning program since its inception.

Any interesting jobs/positions you have had prior to working here?
I was a US Navy SEAL, a stay-at-home dad, and also a strength and conditioning coach.

Where did you grow up, and what is your educational background?
I grew up in Elmhurst, IL. I earned both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arizona.

Tell us about your family.
My wife, Kim, is a physician (anesthesiology). We have 3 children. Sierra is a PRCA alum, studying Marine Biology at Nova Southeastern University. Cody is a junior and Erik is a freshman, both at PRCA.

What keeps you busy outside of school?
Anything outdoors and adventurous.

How do you hope to make a difference in the lives of PRCA students each year?
I want to help each student see their God-given potential and act upon it. I hope to support my students as they "grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52)

What do you love most about Pusch Ridge Christian Academy?
The Holy Spirit lives in this place! PRCA works hard to engage the whole person - mentoring each student academically, spiritually, and personally. Our mission is robust and we have a fantastic team of faculty and staff who strive to live it out!

Why do you think Christian education is important for families to consider?
If you believe in God and His story, then He must be a part of ALL aspects of our lives, including our education. I suppose with His omnipotence and omniscience, He already IS a part of everything. However, we should choose and move toward and with Him in all we do.

What's one thing that makes PRCA unique?
PRCA is free to educate/mentor the way God intended, as a community of believers.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
I used to play the oboe in band, and I was a gymnast in high school. I played 'Tiny Tim' and 'Toto the dog' in grammar and middle school drama productions. I'm also a SCUBA divemaster and know how to sail small boats.

Anything else you'd like to add?
There is no such thing as coincidence. God is in charge. We're better off when we are able to follow Him than to attempt to pave our own ways.
