Who is Kayla Cook?

From the outside looking in you see that she’s a mother, a student, a wife, and a friend, but she is so much more than that.

Kayla loves people.

You can see it in the way she speaks about everyone she comes across; love oozes from Kayla Cook.

After high school graduation in 2007, Kayla needed a fresh start. Growing up in a small Christian environment takes its toll socially and it really started to affect her. Attending an out-of-state university was absolutely necessary.

Even though Kayla loved to learn, school didn’t come very easily to her, especially math. Tests were hard and her SAT scores reflected it, which made the college application process a challenge.

When the acceptance letter from Biola University came in, it felt like a gift from God. This was her chance to not only start over, but go to a beautiful school thirty minutes away from the beach.

At the start of her college journey, Kayla’s declared major was broadcast journalism. She had decided this to be her major because she absolutely loved hearing people’s stories, and wanted to do everything in her power to share people’s journeys.

She loves people.

Over the course of her four years at Biola, Kayla changed her major six times, each time choosing a major having to do with people. For example, one of her major choices was Anthropology, which is the study of cultures and human interaction.

She graduated after four years with a degree in Sociology, and became a social worker in the adoption unit, connecting families through love.

She now lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her husband, Skylar Cook, also a PRCA graduate, and her three beautiful daughters who attend the grammar school. She and her husband work for the local Lifepoint Church, specializing in student ministry.

Kayla continues to show her love for people daily, through everything she does.
