The Caring Teacher

Charissa Moore is one of those souls who is gifted with the desire to help and teach others. This gift has always been prominent in Charissa’s passions, wherever God takes her, which happens to be all over. After graduating from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy (as a member of our first graduating class of 2001), Charissa moved to Oklahoma for college. She chose to take the risk of moving so far away from home because it was a Christian school. After a few years in Oklahoma, she moved back to Arizona to finish her college education at Grand Canyon University with a degree in music education. 

Years of choir and participation on the worship team in high school is what made Charissa fall in love with music. 

During her time in college, Charissa had two children who she managed to raise while pursuing her goals of being a music teacher. This passion of teaching music stemmed from her desire to help others. Not long after college, God led Charissa toward a new path of life, where she had to find a way to help people without teaching music. This new adjustment in life inspired a passion for fitness and health, which she has been pursuing ever since 2018. Since then, she has run a half marathon, become a personal trainer, and is now the general manager at a gym in Nashville.

Today, Charissa is the happiest she has ever been, living in Nashville with her four children, and being a personal trainer and general manager of her gym. 

The best advice Charissa has learned throughout life is that God will gift you with certain passions and use them in ways never imagined. In Charissa’s case, she thought her purpose was to teach students music, however, God led her to teaching people how to be their healthiest selves. By trusting God’s plan and following the path he has set, Charissa was led to her happiest life.
